Bank of Melbourne

Bank of Melbourne, which is no more known by its original name, is best known for the home loans. The bank provides an easy access to the home loans. Bank of Melbourne was acquired by Westpac banking Corporation in 1997. The bank was established when the RESI-Statewide Building Society obtained a banking license in 1989. After the takeover also, Westpac’s banking operations are conducted under the Bank of Melbourne banner in Victoria.

In 1997, The New York Times first published that, the Westpac Banking Corporation, which is based in Sydney, had made a takeover bid of $1.44 billion (Australian), or $1.13 billion (United States), for Bank of Melbourne Ltd., a regional bank in Australia’s Victoria state. Bank of Melbourne directors recommended that shareholders accept the bid.

Westpac’s offer emerged just days before the expected publication of a Government report on the Australian banking industry that was expected to recommend lighter restrictions on mergers of banks and financial institutions. But Australia’s treasurer, Peter Costello, made it clear that Westpac could not be sure that it had correctly anticipated the Government’s response to the report.

Bank of Melbourne provides both commercial and personal banking services. Those services are as follows:
Bank banking services credit cards Financial Services Financial Advisory Full Banks home loans insurance interest rates international investments online banking online investing personal loans

As mentioned earlier that the Bank of Melbourne or Westpac bank is known for providing affordable and easily accessible home loans, some of the home loan products available through this bank are:
