World Bank Aid

The World Bank was established on December 27, 1945. The concept of establishing a World Bank was not new and was originally thought in July 1944 at the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference. The World Bank Aid is provided to those countries which are in serious demand for some kind of assistance; especially the developing countries. The bank provides aid to the governments that work for their own development strategies and taking a stronger hand in their own future development. The major aids provided to different countries include the following:

Poverty reduction strategies

The World Bank basically provides aid to the poor and the developing countries. It shapes its assistance plans depending on Poverty Reduction Strategies. The government of a country identifies a country’s priorities and then works for eliminating that.

Country assistance strategies

The country assistance is produced as a guideline based on the operations of the World Bank in a specific country. Such strategies are produced maintaining a harmony with the local government and the stakeholders. For the low income countries the strategy for providing aid is derived from the country’s Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper.
